Homer FloatPlane Lodge & Cabins is located in the heart of Homer, Alaska. Our location and amenities are perfect for your complete Alaskan Adventure.  We are centrally located, but feel very private.
2010 will be the lodge’s 14th season in business.  are just putting on the finishing touches for the upcoming summer season.  The FloatPlane lodge has a wonderful tradition as one of the finest places to stay in Homer.  The whole staff is dedicated to making your trip as memorable as possible.

We have 7 guest cabins/units with a total of 17 beds.  All have private entrances and baths, cable TV & WI-Fi.  The main lodge is where your meals are served.  We are large enough to accommodate groups; weddings, corporate retreats,  reunions, fishing clubs, but small enough to give everyone personal attention. 

We start your day with a hearty breakfast.  Your lunch, snacks and beverages are packed for your daily activity.  Upon your return appetizers and drinks are served while you relax and we prepare your meal.  The decks have great viewing opportunities to watch waterfowl, eagles, an occasional moose or bear, and of course the wonderful float planes returning from the day trips.

Your daily activities will take you from the lodge to the Homer harbor where you will board the boat for your saltwater fishing.  We are only 3 short miles to the harbor, and 1 mile from the airport.  We are a short 1 mile walk to “one of the most beautiful beaches in the world” - Bishop’s Beach.  (National Geographic Traveler)  But the privacy and location make you feel you are in the middle of nowhere.  Our centralized location is great for people wanting to explore Homer.  A rental car is recommended for exploring on your own.

New for 2008

Hot tub at the water’s edge.  This was built at the suggestion of Capt. John.  We think he had a fabulous idea.  (He really just wanted a place to relax after a day of fishing).  We see our guests using it to watch a great Alaska sunset while sipping on a cool beverage and soaking up the beauty of the lake.


Emerald Air Service - The best part of our expansion is Emerald Air Service. After owning and operating Regal Air in Anchorage for 17 years we have chosen to pursue our love of flying and the country by taking over the Day's legacy of providing a Bearviewing Adventure

Our trip starts at our dock where you board a Dehavilland Beaver on floats and flies to pristine remote areas where you are not limited to a viewing platform or paved trails-away from the crowds that frequent many bearviewing destinations. Our guided naturalistic trip requires good physical fitness as we walk through the countryside becoming acquainted with the bears and the land they live in...flowers, birds, geology,archeology...Please join us and let us share with you the animals and wilderness we love.

Our glacier view flights and bear viewing flights leave from out lawns edge.
