Homer FloatPlane Lodge & Cabins is located in the heart of Homer, Alaska. Our location and amenities are perfect for your complete Alaskan Adventure.  We are centrally located, but feels very private.
2008 will be the lodge’s 12th season in business.  New owners are just putting on the finishing touches for the upcoming summer season.  The FloatPlane lodge has a wonderful tradition as one of the finest places to stay in Homer.  The whole staff is dedicated to making your trip as memorable as possible.

We have 11 guest cabins/units with a total of 30 beds.  All have private entrances and baths, cable TV & WI-Fi.  The main lodge is where your meals are served.  Our chef Terry joins us for his 5th season.  We are large enough to accommodate groups; weddings, corporate retreats,  reunions, fishing clubs, but small enough to give everyone personal attention. 

We start your day with a hearty breakfast.  Your lunch, snacks and beverages are packed for your daily activity.  Upon your return appetizers and drinks are served while you relax and we prepare your meal.  The decks have great viewing opportunities to watch waterfowl, eagles, an occasional moose or bear, and of course the wonderful float planes returning from the day trips.

Your daily activities will take you from the lodge to the Homer harbor where you will board the boat for your saltwater fishing.  We are only 3 short miles to the harbor, and 1 mile from the airport.  We are a short 1 mile walk to “one of the most beautiful beaches in the world” - Bishop’s Beach.  (National Geographic Traveler)  But the privacy and location make you feel you are in the middle of nowhere.  Our centralized location is great for people wanting to explore Homer.  A rental car is recommended for exploring on your own.

New for 2008

Hot tub and sauna at the water’s edge.  This was built at the suggestion of Capt. John.  We think he had a fabulous idea.  (He really just wanted a place to relax after a day of fishing).  We see our guests using it to watch a great Alaska sunset while sipping on a cool beverage and soaking away the sore muscles that you will have from fishing.


Lakeview rooms - across the street from the lodge with a great view of Beluga Lake.  These rooms are large and comfortable.  They feature 4 queen size beds per unit and are perfect for a family group or a group of fishermen.  Cable TV & Wi-Fi add to your comfort.  One room is full ADA wheelchair accessible.  Your meals will be a short walk across the street to the lodge (approx. 100 yards).
 The best part of our expansion is Ed’s Smokehouse & Fish Processing.  Those of you who have stayed with us before know what this means!  You can now make arrangements for your fish without having to leave the lodge.  This state of the art facility is fully certified as a commercial fish packing plant by the State of Alaska.  It is clean, bright and best of all – no waiting in line!

Our glacier view flights and bear viewing flights leave from out lawns edge.
